Bay Area Arts Worker Relief Fund Begins Second Wave of Grants ~ July 22, 2020

Bay Area Arts Worker Relief Fund Begins Second Wave of Grant Awards - All workers in the visual, literary, media, film, and video arts seeking financial support are encouraged to apply!

On April 27, 2020, Independent Arts & Media, in partnership with Arts for a Better Bay Area, ArtSpan, and Emerging Arts Professionals, launched the Bay Area Arts Worker Relief Fund as a financial resource for workers in the visual, literary, media, film, and video arts negatively impacted by COVID-19.  The Fund aims to prioritize Bay Area art workers in the BIPOC communities (Black, Indigenous, Person of Color); disability community / immunocompromised; and LGBTQIA+ communities.

As of July 20th, the Bay Area Arts Worker Relief Fund has:

  • Received over 360 applications from arts workers across the Bay Area
  • Fundraised over $80,000 from foundations and individuals
  • Distributed approximately 90 grants to Bay Area arts workers

We are excited to launch a second wave of grant awards this month.  Applications are still being accepted for those in need.  If you have already applied, we have your application on file - No need to apply twice, thank you!

Apply NOW - and Share!

The artistic community has been hit especially hard this year by the COVID-19 crisis as thousands of workers have lost, canceled, or postponed commissions, gigs, events, and other work opportunities. The Bay Area Arts Worker Relief Fund also works in partnership with Theatre Bay Area and Dancers’ Group who launched the Performing Arts Worker Relief Fund in March to ensure that all arts workers throughout the sector are offered relief.

Our goal is to fundraise thousands more to continue distributing grants to those in need.  No donation is too small.  Please consider donating today!

Thanks to the Walter and Elise Haas Fund, Zellerbach Foundation, local restaurant Pallette, and all those that have contributed to the Fund.
